KP here. A bunch of you sent me a message this week regarding an article published on Slate that referenced Killer Papers. It’s been crazy to see how far the article reached. I have a few thoughts I’d like to share with everyone.
First off, I’m not sure who wrote the article. There are a few people I suspect, but it’s tough to say because I hired a TON of people last year during the pandemic to help keep up with growing demand. But I do want to say thank you to them for sharing a unique perspective on the industry. Most articles that write about essay writing services usually do so in a purely negative and judgemental tone, but this article really sheds light on the fact that essay writing services can HELP. Whether it’s an outline, essay editing, proofreading, a tutoring session or something else, our primary business and focus is helping students grow to accomplish new heights academically. As I’ve stated before, in our TOS and on the site, our customer essays and projects are meant for reference and study purposes only. They are meant to show you what perfect writing looks like for your guidelines. Turning any project you receive from Killer Papers in for academic credit, without substantial contributions being made by yourself, may violate your academic code of conduct. I often inform my writers of this, and that's also why we DO NOT complete online classes and coursework (like many of my competitors do) nor do we do admissions essays. However, we are happy to proof your admissions essay or even do a virtual tutoring session to help you formulate ideas.
Secondly, I want to say thank you to the customer base who stuck with me during the pandemic. I remember sitting in a Burger King at the very start of the pandemic when it was pouring rain outside of Nashville, Tennessee. I was on the way to pick up my girlfriend from the airport, and I stopped there to make a few posts about the pandemic. At the time, a lot of you guys were losing jobs in the uncertainty, so I shared my cover letter and resume templates for free and gave out special discount codes to anyone who was ordering. I never imagined at that time, as I sat there eating a cheeseburger and piece of Hershey’s Pie, that the pandemic would end up allow Killer Papers to grow rapidly.
It’s crazy to think that four and a half years ago, Killer Papers didn’t exist. I remember posting the first picture on IG and the hundreds of people who messaged or commented that it was a scam in the weeks following. I understood - it sounded too good to be true. But as I pressed on, things changed gradually. I remember writing hundreds of essays for free or almost nothing in exchange for a good, truthful review. I also remember making $167 in sales one day and the first writer I hired, Marie (She’s still with us today!). Fast forward a few years and now the brand is being mentioned on a reputable news source like Slate. It’s all crazy, and a good time to reflect.
I am really grateful to be here and to be the owner of Killer Papers. I work hard every day trying to provide quality services and memes alike and to have the brand be put in the spotlight like that for a couple of days really makes my efforts worth it.
Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your summer. You deserve it after the shitstorm of 2020/21. I’ll see you guys this fall!
