Is Cramly Safe: Cramly.AI Review

So, let’s talk about what exactly Cramly AI does. Cramly AI offers a variety of tools to assist users in creating content, including an essay outline generator, a plagiarism checker, and an article summarizer.

Cramly AI claims to be “the only AI platform that drafts 10-page essays with real citations.” With language like this, you likely think you can have your entire essay done by them, along with discussion boards and any related idea generation.

You’d think your longer essays would be a breeze with a service like Cramly.

And they (kinda) do seem to do that. All of the reviews online and my test runs with this program indicate that it will help you write an essay with citations inside of it. The essay outline creator helps users structure and plan their essays effectively.

There’s a Huge BUT To Take Into Account

BUT - and this is a huge but…

That doesn’t matter because content generated by Cramly AI is (obviously) AI-generated. This is the case for the free version, the free trial, the monthly plan, the paid plan, and all the other pricing plans that offer unlimited questions.

You see, Cramly is a program that is basically just connected to ChatGPT on the back end. They just dress up the front of it, try to rebrand the same thing you get for free as something new and different, and trick you into thinking it’s a good idea to use their watered-down version on your academic work.

So, honestly, even if you need a letter generator or something like that, you might as well use the free or paid plans on ChatGPT and get the same thing without giving these guys your money.

This is insanity, meaning Cramly’s overall quality is extremely low.

While they claim to have an “AI-detector” built-in on their website, this is actually little more than a sham. The plagiarism checker is supposed to ensure the originality of writing but fails to detect AI content accurately.

I ran two pieces of content through their detector and Turnitin, and I found that the results could not have been more different.

Proof That Their Content Gets Detected

In fact, I generated some content with Cramly AI and then dropped it into TurnItIn myself to show you the results.

While Cramly did generate a decent enough draft of an essay, it was extremely hard to get the plagiarism percentage to go down, even after a few rewrites. The paid subscription to Cramly AI includes additional AI tools, but they do not significantly improve the detection issue.

If you’re wondering, “Is Cramly AI good,” this alone should answer your question!

What Does Cramly.AI Offer?

So, I don’t understand Cramly.AI in a lot of ways.

While they primarily claim to be an academic helper, they offer a ton of gimmicky little things like a multiple choice solver, an article summarizer, a tool for musicians seeking inspiration, a letter generator, and help with discussion boards. On top of that, they offer some other generally useless tools like a paragraph generator, a sentence elongator, and a paragraph assistant.

I really don’t know what they’re going for with this stuff.

It’s basically just tools you can get for free in ChatGPT, and any somewhat intelligent professor can still detect it. It has a relatively straightforward interface with a grammar checker built in despite supposedly being built on “advanced algorithms.”

While AI can be useful when you’re battling writer’s block, you have to keep in mind that every single thing it generates needs to be rewritten entirely for it to pass services like Turnitin and all the other AI detectors that professors are assuredly using these days.

Maybe it’s useful for business purposes, but that would mean that the name “Cramly” is slightly deceptive. So, if you’re searching for a job, maybe Cramly is the tool for you.

But this software is useless if you want to get your teacher’s questions answered and have an essay completed.

Testing It Out: Does The Multiple Choice Solver Work?

So, while I’ve largely figured out that Cramly.ai is pretty much useless for essay writing and even for doing basic stuff like writing a discussion board or a single informative paragraph (even with the paragraph assistant), I wanted to see how it did with the whole “multiple choice solver” that can supposedly answer unlimited questions.

It would seem like a pretty good deal if that’s true, especially when discussing complex topics.

Well, Not Really...

Anyway, I fed it a series of multiple-choice questions. The idea is that you can input either the teacher’s question or your own.

I have the answer key, so I would know the correct answer vs. not.

Unfortunately, they were all incorrect. This includes the maths solver, which was an intricate part of a lot of Cramly AI.

I even tested out the song generator for kicks to see how bad it would be. Sadly, I was not surprised.

What About The Personalized Cover Letter?

The same goes for the cover letter creator. I thought a cover letter would be easy, but I stand corrected.

I guess Cramly can’t even get a cover letter right.

If you don’t fully understand AI and how it works, it might look like a magic bullet that will forever solve your academic problems.

After all, it’s a magic little tool that can write for you. What’s not to love there?

Well, the issue here is that pretty much everyone and their mother knows about artificial intelligence at this point, and almost every college in the United States is scanning for AI.

They do this using a program called Turnitin, which is the Mercedes Benz of AI and plagiarism detection. It was likely used in your high school, and definitely gets used in your university too.

AI detection tools are becoming increasingly sophisticated, making it difficult for AI-generated content to go undetected.

There’s No Writing Process At All - It’s Just an AI Tool

Unfortunately, this poor person got what was coming to them by using Cramly AI. I bet they were also asking, “Is Cramly AI good,” only to be totally disappointed.

In short, she realized that AI isn’t the easy way out that many people think it will be for them. It’s hard to get away with using AI on any graded content.

The critical error that most people make whenever dealing with AI-related writing tools is that they assume that they can use it as a “base” for their essays and that if they rewrite (or even just change a few words), there is no possible way that they will be found out.

While Cramly AI aims to streamline the writing process, it ultimately fails to produce undetectable content.

And while that would be cool (it would make my life 10x easier!), unfortunately, it is not true.

You see, rewriting AI content to flag it as undetectable is just as hard as rewriting all of the content yourself. I know that might sound crazy, but it’s completely true.

In other words, even the little things like sentence structure, word choice, and idea flow are more or less hard-coded into the language that is the output of an AI bot.

You’re Gonna Get Detected...

Yes, that means that even if you copy and paste it into a new document, do a ton of rewriting, and change all the words, you will still likely flag for at least 20-30% AI, and that’s if you do a TON of work.

Changing just a few words here and there is NOT a sound way to get away with using an AI bot when essay writing. In fact, you might as well not make any of those changes at all if you’re going to be so light on them. The truth is, it won’t make a difference in the slightest.

AI Can’t Generate Drafts Either!

So, the most important myth to debunk here is that AI can give you a “draft” or something workable. The sad reality (and Cramly AI knows this) is that there’s no use case for AI with essay writing, given how advanced all detection tools have become.

That might be a letdown, but it’s the truth.

I dove into Cramly’s pricing options to figure out how much this service really costs to use.

In their billing cycle, they offer a variety of options. You can start with a free trial and then dive into their annual pricing plans, which generally equal out to about $10 per month.

While they claim you can cancel anytime, most other reviews show this is untrue.

For example, just check out what this woman said happened whenever she tried to get a refund for a false charge.

In the free trial, you can access the sentence elongator and the paragraph assistant, which claims to break things down into manageable bullet points for you.

Personally, I found this feature, the article summarizer, and the sentence elongator to be useless.

In the end, I was mostly scratching my head about what exactly this thing was supposed to do.

Cramly AI Review: My Conclusion

So, what’s the takeaway here? 

Cramly AI is a fraud. They offer a bunch of gimmicks like a paraphrasing tool, an essay outline generator, anti-plagiarism tools, and a “long essay generator.” In reality, these are all useless. If you use Cramly AI for anything academic-related, it will get detected, and you will fail.

Sure, each of these is a unique feature, and if you need to elongate sentences, perhaps there’s a use for Cramly. But when it comes to writing a full-on essay that’s well structured (especially longer essays), Cramly simply is not it!

Furthermore, in my testing, it also failed in its promise to solve multiple-choice questions, and even its AI output quality was extremely lacking.

But hey, they at least have a great sentence elongator! 🤣

Remember: AI Can ALWAYS Be Detected!

Any service that attempts to use AI to help you write essays is well aware that they can be detected by software like TurnItIn and that they’re essentially setting you up to fail.

That’s terrible and a really awful thing to do to students who need help. You know it, I know it, and everyone knows it.

Sure, AI can help with the learning experience and MAYBE as a writing tool if you’re an absolute expert and can rewrite everything. But honestly, at that point, you might as well just write it all yourself.

It’s hilarious that they market all these weird uses for their software, including generating “unique song lyrics” and other strange things.

Why Do They Offer These Weird Features?

It’s not like if you come for an essay, you’re going to stay for a song generator.

The main message of this Cramly.AI review is this: Trust me, you can do better. If you use Cramly AI, you’ll get in a ton of trouble.

Stop asking yourself, “Is Cramly.AI good?” The answer is NO.
